The Galaxy S6 edge+ has a score of 79.3, which is slightly better than the Xperia Z4v's global score of 78.8. The Galaxy S6 edge+ body is notably thinner and a little lighter than Xperia Z4v, even though both of them were released with only 2 months difference. These devices work with the same Android 5.1 OS (Operating System), so you shouldn't notice any difference in that aspect.
Xperia Z4v features a better processing power than Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+, because although it has a smaller amount of RAM memory, it also counts with an extra graphics processor and more CPU cores (although slower). The Xperia Z4v features a bit sharper display than Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+, because although it has a bit smaller screen, and they both have an equal resolution of 2560 x 1440, the Xperia Z4v also counts with a just a bit more pixels per display inch.

Although Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ is a better device, it is way more expensive than Sony Xperia Z4v, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Sony Xperia Z4v. So if you need that extra features, you can buy Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+, but if you don't you can save some dollars and get the Sony Xperia Z4v, resigning some specifications.
