The Xperia XZ3 has a general score of 79.6, which is slightly better than Galaxy S7 edge's 78.1 score. Both phones in our current comparison include Android OS, but the Xperia XZ3 has a newer 9.0 Pie version and Galaxy S7 edge has Android 8.0 Oreo, providing some additional features. The Xperia XZ3 design is way newer, but somewhat heavier and much thicker than the Galaxy S7 edge.
Xperia XZ3 features a bit better processing power than Galaxy S7 edge, and although they both have 4 GB of RAM memory, the Xperia XZ3 also has a greater number of cores (and they are faster). Xperia XZ3 features just a bit better looking screen than Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, because it has a slightly better 1440 x 2880 resolution, a little bit more pixels per display inch and a little larger display.
The Xperia XZ3 features a slightly better camera than Galaxy S7 edge, because although it has a tinier aperture, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition and the same video frame rates, the Xperia XZ3 also counts with a back-facing camera with a lot higher resolution and a bigger back-facing camera sensor capturing more light and vivid colors.
The Sony Xperia XZ3 counts with much more memory to install applications and games than Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, because it has 32 GB more internal memory capacity and a slot for an SD memory card that holds a maximum of 512 GB. Samsung Galaxy S7 edge features a bit longer battery performance than Xperia XZ3, because it has a 3600mAh battery size.
Although Xperia XZ3 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Galaxy S7 edge, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Galaxy S7 edge. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy the Xperia XZ3, but if you don't you can save some dollars and get the Galaxy S7 edge, giving up a couple specifications.
