The iPhone XS Max is slightly better than the Samsung Galaxy S7, getting a score of 84.5 against 79.5. The iPhone XS Max is a a lot newer and a little thinner device than Samsung Galaxy S7, although it's also extremely heavier. IPhone XS Max counts with a greater hardware performance than Galaxy S7, and although they both have 4 GB of RAM memory, the iPhone XS Max also has a greater number of cores and a 64-bits processing unit.

Galaxy S7 has a bit better looking screen than iPhone XS Max, because although it has a much smaller screen, it also counts with a brighter screen, a better display density and a quite better resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. Samsung Galaxy S7 has more memory for apps and games than iPhone XS Max, because although it has just 32 GB internal memory capacity, it also counts with a slot for external memory cards that holds a maximum of 200 GB.

Apple iPhone XS Max shoots clearer videos and photos than Samsung Galaxy S7, because although it has a smaller back camera sensor capturing less light and duller colors and a tinier aperture which is not nice for low-light captures and videos, and they both have a 12 megapixels camera and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, the Apple iPhone XS Max also counts with better 60 frames per second video frame rate.

Apple iPhone XS Max features just a bit better battery duration than Samsung Galaxy S7, because it has a 3179mAh battery size.

Although iPhone XS Max is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Galaxy S7, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Galaxy S7. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy the iPhone XS Max, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and get the Galaxy S7, resigning some specs and features.
