Comparison review
The Xperia 5 has an overall score of 81, which is slightly better than Galaxy S7's 79.5 global score. The Xperia 5 construction is much newer, but just a little bit thicker and a little bit heavier than Galaxy S7. The Sony Xperia 5 features a little better performance than Samsung Galaxy S7, because it has a larger number of cores and more RAM memory.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 counts with a sharper display than Xperia 5, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, it also counts with a higher pixel amount in each display inch and a bit higher resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. The Xperia 5 counts with a much better storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Galaxy S7, because it has an external SD slot that supports up to 512 GB and 128 GB internal memory.
Sony Xperia 5 counts with a bit superior battery lifetime than Samsung Galaxy S7, because it has 3140mAh of battery capacity against 3000mAh. The Xperia 5 and Galaxy S7 feature extremely similar cameras, because although the Xperia 5 has a smaller back camera sensor taking less light and washed colors, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video definition, a 12 mega pixels resolution back camera and the same 30 fps video frame rate, it also counts with a bigger diafragm aperture to capture better low-light captures.
Although Sony Xperia 5 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Galaxy S7, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Galaxy S7. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can buy Galaxy S7, and give up some specs and features, but you'll get the most out of your savings.
