IPhone XS Max has a global score of 84.5, which is just a bit better than Galaxy S8 Active's 81.9 score. IPhone XS Max is a noticeably thinner cellphone than Galaxy S8 Active, but both weight the same. Apple iPhone XS Max counts with a screen that's just as good as the Galaxy S8 Active one, because although the Apple iPhone XS Max has a bit lower resolution of 1242 x 2688 and a quite lower count of pixels per inch in the display, it also counts with a little bigger display.
IPhone XS Max features a better performing processing unit than Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, because although it has 2 less cpu cores , and they both have the same RAM amount, the iPhone XS Max also counts with a 64-bit processing unit. The iPhone XS Max features a little bit better camera than Galaxy S8 Active, because although it has a smaller aperture, and they both have a same size back-facing camera sensor, the same video definition and a back facing camera with a 12 megapixels resolution, the iPhone XS Max also counts with higher video frame rates.
The Galaxy S8 Active counts with a much better storage capacity to install games and applications than iPhone XS Max, and although they both have exactly the same 64 GB internal storage, the Galaxy S8 Active also has an external SD slot that holds a maximum of 256 GB. Galaxy S8 Active has longer battery lifetime than iPhone XS Max, because it has a 4000mAh battery capacity instead of 3179mAh.

So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy the Apple iPhone XS Max, but if you don't you can save some dollars and get the Galaxy S8 Active, resigning a couple features and specs.
