The Galaxy M31s is slightly better than the Galaxy S8 Active, with an 88 score against 81.9. Galaxy M31s's body is notably newer, just a little thinner and a little bit lighter than Galaxy S8 Active. The Galaxy S8 Active counts with a little sharper screen than Samsung Galaxy M31s, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, it also counts with more pixels per inch in the screen and a higher 1440 x 2960 pixels resolution.
