Galaxy Note9 has a global score of 87.1, which is slightly better than Samsung Galaxy S8 Active's score of 81.9. The Galaxy Note9 is a newer device, and it is also just a bit lighter and thinner than the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active. The Galaxy Note9 has a little faster processing unit than Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, and although they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, the Galaxy Note9 also has 2 GB more RAM memory.
Galaxy S8 Active features a little sharper display than Samsung Galaxy Note9, because although it has a quite smaller display, and they both have the same resolution of 1440 x 2960px, the Galaxy S8 Active also counts with a quite higher display pixel density. Galaxy Note9 features a lot bigger memory for applications and games than Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, because it has 128 GB internal memory and an external SD slot that supports a maximum of 512 GB.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 Active and the Samsung Galaxy Note9 feature quite similar batteries performance. The Samsung Galaxy Note9 captures a bit better photos and videos than Galaxy S8 Active, and although they both have a same size back-facing camera sensor, the same video resolution and a back-facing camera with a 12 mega-pixels, the Samsung Galaxy Note9 also has a bigger aperture and higher video frame rate.
Although Samsung Galaxy Note9 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Samsung Galaxy S8 Active. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, letting go a couple features and specs, but you will get the most out of your savings.
