Comparison review
The Galaxy A8 Star is a bit better than the Galaxy XCover FieldPro, with a global score of 82.1 against 80.1. Both devices we compare here work with Android operating system, but the Galaxy A8 Star has a newer 9.0 Pie version while Galaxy XCover FieldPro has Android 8.0 Oreo version. Galaxy A8 Star's body is noticeably thinner and extremely lighter than the Galaxy XCover FieldPro, even though it was released around a year before.
Samsung Galaxy XCover FieldPro features a better screen than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with more pixels per screen inch and a better 1440 x 2560 resolution. Galaxy XCover FieldPro counts with a bit bigger memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, and although they both have exactly the same internal storage, the Galaxy XCover FieldPro also has a SD extension slot that allows a maximum of 512 GB.
The Galaxy XCover FieldPro counts with a bit more powerful processing unit than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, although it has a lower amount of RAM, they both have 8 cpu cores. Samsung Galaxy XCover FieldPro has better battery performance than Galaxy A8 Star, because it has a 4500mAh battery capacity. The Galaxy A8 Star takes greater photographs and videos than Samsung Galaxy XCover FieldPro, because although it has a smaller sensor taking lower quality videos and pictures and a tinier aperture which is not nice for low-light photos and video, it also counts with a way better (4K) video definition and a camera with way more mega pixels.
