Xperia 1 II is much better than Sony Xperia 5, getting a 91 score against 81. Although the Xperia 1 II and Sony Xperia 5 were only released with a couple months difference, Xperia 1 II's design is just a little heavier but also a little thinner. Sony Xperia 5's CPU is very similar to the Xperia 1 II one, and although the Sony Xperia 5 has less RAM memory, they both have the same number of cores.

The Xperia 1 II features a little more vivid display than Xperia 5, because it has a little bit larger display, a way better resolution of 1644 x 3840px and a better pixels number in each display inch. The Xperia 1 II features a lot bigger memory capacity for games and applications than Xperia 5, because it has a SD memory card expansion slot that allows a maximum of 1000 GB and 256 GB internal storage capacity.

The Xperia 1 II features just a bit better camera than Xperia 5, because although it has a smaller camera aperture which is not recommended for low-light photos and videos, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video resolution and a 12 mega pixels camera in the back, the Xperia 1 II also counts with a lot bigger sensor taking more light and vivid colors and better 60 fps video frame rate.

The Xperia 1 II features improved battery duration than Xperia 5, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity.
