Comparison review

The Xperia 1 III is way better than OnePlus 8, having a 93.3 score against 76. Although Xperia 1 III is newer than the OnePlus 8, it's just a little thicker and a bit heavier. The Sony Xperia 1 III features a bit more powerful processor than OnePlus 8, and although they both have 8 cores, the Sony Xperia 1 III also has 4 GB more RAM memory.

Xperia 1 III features just a bit better display than OnePlus 8, and although they both have a same size display, the Xperia 1 III also has a much better count of pixels per inch of screen and a lot higher 1644 x 3840px resolution. Xperia 1 III features a much bigger memory capacity for games and applications than OnePlus 8, because it has a SD extension slot that supports a maximum of 1 TB and more internal storage capacity.

The Sony Xperia 1 III has a bit longer battery life than OnePlus 8, because it has a 5 percent more battery capacity. The OnePlus 8 shoots a little bit better photographs and videos than Sony Xperia 1 III, because although it has worse 60 frames per second video frame rate, a smaller camera sensor shooting lower quality photos and a tinier aperture which is not recommended for low-light captures, and they both have the same (4K) video definition, the OnePlus 8 also counts with a lot more MP camera.

Although Sony Xperia 1 III is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the OnePlus 8, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as OnePlus 8. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy Sony Xperia 1 III, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the OnePlus 8, letting go some specs and features.
