The Sony Xperia 1 III construction is newer, a little bit thinner and just a bit lighter than the Galaxy Note9. The Sony Xperia 1 III features a little bit better looking screen than Samsung Galaxy Note9, because it has a better resolution of 1644 x 3840 pixels, a bit larger screen and a higher pixel amount in each inch in the screen.

Sony Xperia 1 III features a bit better processing power than Galaxy Note9, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Sony Xperia 1 III also has more RAM memory.

The Xperia 1 III takes just a bit better videos and photos than Samsung Galaxy Note9, because although it has a smaller camera aperture which is not good for taking images or videos in low-light situations, and they both have the same resolution back-facing camera and the same 3840x2160 video resolution, the Xperia 1 III also counts with higher 120 frames per second video frame rates and a much larger back-facing camera sensor which provides a way better photo and video quality.
