Comparison review

The Xperia 1 has a global score of 82.6, which is slightly better than the OnePlus 8's 76 score. The Xperia 1 is an older and a bit thicker phone than OnePlus 8, but Sony managed to build it a bit lighter anyway. OnePlus 8's processor is just as good as Xperia 1's CPU, and although the OnePlus 8 has a larger amount of RAM memory, they both have the same number of cores.

The Xperia 1 features a little more vivid display than OnePlus 8, because although it has much darker screen, and they both have a same size display, the Xperia 1 also counts with way more pixels per inch of display and a way better 1644 x 3840px resolution. The Sony Xperia 1 has a much bigger storage capacity for apps and games than OnePlus 8, and although they both have the same internal memory capacity, the Sony Xperia 1 also has a slot for an SD memory card that allows a maximum of 512 GB.

OnePlus 8 counts with a much better camera than Xperia 1, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not recommended for taking pictures and video in low light situations, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video definition, the OnePlus 8 also counts with a much higher resolution camera, better 60 frames per second video frame rates and a much bigger sensor taking way better quality videos and pictures.

OnePlus 8 has longer battery life than Xperia 1, because it has 4300mAh of battery capacity against 3330mAh.

Although Sony Xperia 1 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the OnePlus 8, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the OnePlus 8. If you want to save a few dollars, you can buy OnePlus 8, and give up a few features and specifications, but you'll get the most out of your savings.
