Comparison review
Sony Xperia 1 is a little bit better than the Galaxy A8 Star, getting a global score of 82.6 against 82.1. The Sony Xperia 1 construction is newer and just a little bit lighter, but a little thicker than the Galaxy A8 Star. Xperia 1 has a little faster processor than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star. They have the same number of cores and a 6 GB RAM memory.
Xperia 1 has a sharper screen than Galaxy A8 Star, because it has a lot higher screen density, a lot higher 1644 x 3840px resolution and a bit larger screen. Galaxy A8 Star features a slightly better camera than Xperia 1, because although it has a smaller back-facing camera sensor which provides a worse photo and video quality and a tinier aperture which is not so good for low light photography and videos, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition, the Galaxy A8 Star also counts with a camera with lot more mega-pixels and higher 30 frames per second video frame rates.
The Sony Xperia 1 features a much better memory for games and applications than Galaxy A8 Star, because it has 128 GB internal memory and a SD memory card expansion slot that allows up to 512 GB. Galaxy A8 Star counts with just a bit longer battery duration than Sony Xperia 1, because it has an 11 percent greater battery capacity.
