The Xperia 1 has a global score of 82.6, which is slightly better than the Xperia XZ1's general score of 78.3. The Xperia 1 design is newer than Xperia XZ1's, but it's somewhat heavier and just a little bit thicker. The Xperia 1 counts with a much better display than Xperia XZ1, because it has a bigger display, a lot better resolution of 1644 x 3840 pixels and a lot better pixels count per screen inch.

The Xperia 1 has a little faster processor than Xperia XZ1, and although they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, the Xperia 1 also has a higher amount of RAM memory. Xperia XZ1 takes clearer photos and videos than Sony Xperia 1, because although it has a tinier camera aperture which is not good for low light captures and video, and they both have the same (4K) video resolution, the Xperia XZ1 also counts with a larger sensor shooting higher quality videos and photos, a lot better 19 megapixels resolution camera and better 30 frames per second video frame rates.

The Xperia XZ1 counts with a slightly bigger memory capacity to store more games and applications than Sony Xperia 1, because although it has just 64 GB internal memory capacity, it also counts with a SD memory card expansion slot that supports up to 1,95 TB. The Xperia 1 counts with greater battery life than Sony Xperia XZ1, because it has a 23% greater battery capacity.

The Xperia 1 costs more money than the Xperia XZ1, but you can get a better phone for that few extra dollars.
