Comparison review

Xperia 1 has a general score of 82.6, which is slightly better than the Xperia XZ3's global score of 79.6. Xperia 1's body is a little lighter and somewhat thinner than the Xperia XZ3, even though both were only released 7 months apart. The Xperia 1 has a slightly better looking screen than Sony Xperia XZ3, because although it has much lower brightness, it also counts with a higher 1644 x 3840 pixels resolution, a little bit bigger display and a bit higher quantity of pixels in each inch of display.

Xperia 1 features a bit superior processor than Sony Xperia XZ3, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Xperia 1 also has more RAM. Xperia 1 features a much bigger storage capacity for games and applications than Sony Xperia XZ3, and although they both have a slot for an SD memory card that holds a maximum of 512 GB, the Xperia 1 also has 128 GB internal memory capacity.

Sony Xperia XZ3's battery duration is just as good as the Xperia 1 one. The Xperia XZ3 shoots just a bit better photos and videos than Sony Xperia 1, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture which is not recommended for shooting pictures and/or video in poorly lited situations, and they both have the same (4K) video resolution, the Xperia XZ3 also counts with a way higher 19 MP resolution back facing camera, a larger sensor providing a higher image quality and faster video frame rates.

The Xperia 1 costs a little more than Xperia XZ3, but it's still a good choice, because you can get a lot more for that extra money.
