The Sony Xperia 5 II has an overall score of 87.2, which is better than LG V30's 79.1 global score. The Sony Xperia 5 II body is a lot newer, but a bit heavier and a bit thicker than the LG V30. The LG V30 counts with a bit better looking display than Xperia 5 II, because although it has a quite smaller display, it also counts with a better 1440 x 2880 pixels resolution and a bit better number of pixels in each inch of screen.

Xperia 5 II counts with a bit better processing power than LG V30, and although they both have 8 processing cores, the Xperia 5 II also has a greater amount of RAM memory. Xperia 5 II takes clearer photos and videos than LG V30, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not favorable for low light captures and videos, a much lower 12 MP resolution back camera and a worse 3840x2160 video resolution, it also counts with a lot larger back camera sensor which offers a lot higher photo and video quality.

The Sony Xperia 5 II features a slightly bigger storage to install games and applications than LG V30, because although it has an external SD slot that supports 1000 GB smaller, it also counts with more internal memory capacity. Xperia 5 II features greater battery lifetime than LG V30, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity against 3300mAh.

Although Xperia 5 II is a better device, it costs a lot more money than LG V30, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the LG V30. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy the Xperia 5 II, else you can save a couple dollars and buy the LG V30, resigning some specs and features.
