Comparison review

The Xperia 5 is a bit better than the Google Pixel 3, with a global score of 81 against 80. Even though the Xperia 5 is newer than the Google Pixel 3, it's a little thicker and a bit heavier. The Sony Xperia 5 has just a bit better display than Google Pixel 3, because it has a little bit bigger screen, a just a little greater pixels amount in each inch in the screen and a slightly better 1080 x 2520 resolution.

Xperia 5 counts with a superior memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Google Pixel 3, because it has a slot for an SD memory card that admits up to 512 GB and 64 GB more internal storage. The Xperia 5 counts with a bit more powerful processing unit than Google Pixel 3, and although they both have 8 cpu cores, the Xperia 5 also has a greater amount of RAM.

Sony Xperia 5 has a little better battery performance than Google Pixel 3, because it has a 3140mAh battery capacity. The Google Pixel 3's camera is just as good as Sony Xperia 5's camera, because although the Google Pixel 3 has a smaller aperture which is not recommended for low-light captures and video, and they both have the same video frame rates and the same (4K) video quality, it also counts with a more mega pixels back facing camera and a bigger sensor providing a higher image quality.

Although Xperia 5 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Google Pixel 3, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Google Pixel 3. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy the Xperia 5, otherwise you can save some money and buy the Google Pixel 3, giving up some features and specs.
