Comparison review

The Xperia 5 has a global score of 81, which is slightly better than the Google Pixel 3 XL's 80.7 general score. The Xperia 5 construction is newer and somewhat lighter than the Google Pixel 3 XL's, although it is a little bit thicker. The Xperia 5 counts with a bit better performance than Google Pixel 3 XL, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Xperia 5 also has a larger amount of RAM.

Google Pixel 3 XL features a little more vivid screen than Sony Xperia 5, because it has a little bit greater pixel count in each inch in the screen, a quite bigger screen and a higher resolution of 1440 x 2960px. The Sony Xperia 5 features much more memory for games and applications than Google Pixel 3 XL, because it has a SD card slot that admits up to 512 GB and more internal memory.

Google Pixel 3 XL has just a little better battery life than Xperia 5, because it has a 3430mAh battery capacity. Google Pixel 3 XL and Xperia 5 count with really similar cameras, because although the Google Pixel 3 XL has a smaller camera aperture, and they both have the same video quality and the same 30 fps video frame rates, it also counts with a back facing camera with a better 12.2 MP resolution and a bigger sensor capturing more light and vivid colors.

Although Sony Xperia 5 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Google Pixel 3 XL, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Google Pixel 3 XL. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy Sony Xperia 5, else you can save some dollars and get the Google Pixel 3 XL, giving up a couple specifications.
