Comparison review
Sony Xperia 5 is a little bit better than the Google Pixel 3a, with an 81 score against 78.8. Sony Xperia 5's construction has the same thickness than the Google Pixel 3a, but it is heavier. The Sony Xperia 5 counts with a slightly better looking display than Google Pixel 3a, because it has a just a little greater screen density, a bit larger display and a little higher resolution of 1080 x 2520.
Xperia 5 has a lot bigger storage to store more apps and games than Google Pixel 3a, because it has an external SD slot that allows a maximum of 512 GB and 128 GB internal memory. The Xperia 5 features just a bit better performance than Google Pixel 3a, and although they both have 8 CPU cores, the Xperia 5 also has more RAM.
Xperia 5 features a bit better battery performance than Google Pixel 3a, because it has a 5% greater battery capacity. The Google Pixel 3a counts with a camera that's very similar to Xperia 5's camera, because although the Google Pixel 3a has a tinier aperture which is not recommended for low light images and video, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video quality and the same video frame rates, it also counts with a bigger camera sensor taking more light and vivid colors and a back facing camera with a better 12.2 MP resolution.
Although Xperia 5 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Google Pixel 3a, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Google Pixel 3a. If you are trying to save some money, you can buy the Google Pixel 3a, letting go a few features and specifications, but you will get the most out of your budget.
