Huawei Mate 30 5G is a little bit better than the Sony Xperia 5, having an 87.4 score against 81. Despite being the best phone in this review, the Huawei Mate 30 5G is an a little bit thicker and heavier phone than Sony Xperia 5. The Huawei Mate 30 5G's CPU is just as good as the Sony Xperia 5 one, and although the Huawei Mate 30 5G has a larger amount of RAM memory, they both have the same number of cores.

The Sony Xperia 5 counts with a little sharper display than Huawei Mate 30 5G, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, it also counts with a slightly better 1080 x 2520 resolution and a little bit better amount of pixels in each inch in the screen. The Huawei Mate 30 5G has a much better camera than Xperia 5, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not recommended for taking photographs and videos in low-light situations, and they both have the same (4K) video definition, the Huawei Mate 30 5G also counts with a way better resolution back facing camera, better video frame rate and a much larger back-facing camera sensor taking much better quality videos and photographs.

Sony Xperia 5 has a lot bigger memory capacity for applications and games than Huawei Mate 30 5G, and although they both have the same internal storage, the Sony Xperia 5 also has a slot for SD memory cards that admits a maximum of 512 GB. Huawei Mate 30 5G counts with improved battery lifetime than Xperia 5, because it has a 34% more battery size.
