Comparison review
Sony Xperia 5 has a general score of 81, which is a bit better than Huawei Mate 9 Pro's overall score of 78.7. The Sony Xperia 5 construction is extremely newer and a bit lighter than the Huawei Mate 9 Pro's, although it's a bit thicker. The Xperia 5 features just a little better performance than Huawei Mate 9 Pro. Both have 6 GB of RAM and the same number of cores.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro features a bit sharper display than Xperia 5, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a quite better resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a bit greater number of pixels in each inch of screen. The Xperia 5 shoots slightly better photos and videos than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and although they both have a back facing camera with a 12 mega pixels, the same video frame rates and the same 3840x2160 video resolution, the Xperia 5 also has a much larger aperture to take better low-light images and video and a bigger sensor providing a higher image quality.
Sony Xperia 5 features a much greater memory capacity to store more apps and games than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and although they both have exactly the same internal memory, the Sony Xperia 5 also has an external SD slot that admits a maximum of 512 GB. Huawei Mate 9 Pro counts with greater battery duration than Xperia 5, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity.
The Xperia 5 costs a bit more money than the Huawei Mate 9 Pro, but it's still a convenient choice, because you can get a lot more for that extra money.
