Comparison review
The Sony Xperia 5 is a little bit better than Huawei P30 Lite, with a score of 81 against 77. Despite being the best in this comparison review, it must be told that it's also a a bit heavier and a bit thicker device. The Sony Xperia 5 has a little bit better looking screen than Huawei P30 Lite, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, it also counts with a bit higher 1080 x 2520 resolution and a just a little more pixels per inch in the display.
Huawei P30 Lite features as much memory to install applications and games as the Sony Xperia 5 one, they have a SD memory card expansion slot that allows a maximum of 512 GB and equal internal memory. The Xperia 5 features a bit better hardware performance than Huawei P30 Lite, and although they both have 8 CPU cores, the Xperia 5 also has 2 GB more RAM.
The Huawei P30 Lite counts with a bit better battery lifetime than Xperia 5, because it has a 6% bigger battery capacity. The Xperia 5 features a bit better camera than Huawei P30 Lite, because although it has a way smaller camera sensor capturing lot lower quality photos and videos and a back-facing camera with a way worse 12 mega-pixels resolution, it also counts with a bigger camera aperture for better images and videos in low light situations and a much higher video quality.
Although Xperia 5 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Huawei P30 Lite, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Huawei P30 Lite. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy Xperia 5, otherwise you can save some money and buy the Huawei P30 Lite, resigning some features and specifications.
