Comparison review
Xperia 5 has a general score of 81, which is slightly better than Huawei P40 Lite's 79.5 global score. Even though the Xperia 5 and Huawei P40 Lite were only released 5 months apart, the Xperia 5 is lighter and a bit thinner. Sony Xperia 5 features a bit sharper screen than Huawei P40 Lite, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a little higher resolution of 1080 x 2520 and a bit more pixels per display inch.
The Sony Xperia 5 has a bit better processing power than Huawei P40 Lite. They have the same RAM amount and the same number of cores. Huawei P40 Lite counts with a much better camera than Sony Xperia 5, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not nice for low-light photography, and they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rate and the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video quality, the Huawei P40 Lite also counts with a much higher resolution back facing camera and a way larger sensor providing a lot better image quality.
Xperia 5 features a much better memory capacity for games and applications than Huawei P40 Lite, and although they both have the same 128 GB internal storage capacity, the Xperia 5 also has a SD card slot that admits a maximum of 512 GB. Huawei P40 Lite features greater battery performance than Xperia 5, because it has 4200mAh of battery capacity.
Although Xperia 5 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Huawei P40 Lite, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Huawei P40 Lite. If you prefer to save some money, you can buy Huawei P40 Lite, and give up a few features and specs, but you'll get the most with your money.
