Xperia 5 has a global score of 81, which is a bit better than the Motorola Moto G8 Plus's 77.6 overall score. Xperia 5 is a somewhat lighter and thinner cellphone than the Motorola Moto G8 Plus, although both were released only a few months apart. The Xperia 5 features a little faster processor than Motorola Moto G8 Plus, and although they both have 8 cpu cores, the Xperia 5 also has a greater amount of RAM.

The Sony Xperia 5 counts with a bit more vivid display than Moto G8 Plus, because although it has a bit smaller display, it also counts with a little higher pixels count in each screen inch and a slightly higher resolution of 1080 x 2520. The Moto G8 Plus counts with improved battery duration than Xperia 5, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity.
