Sony Xperia 5 is just a bit better than Moto Z2 Play, getting an 81 score against 77.4. The Sony Xperia 5 design is a lot newer, but extremely thicker and heavier than Moto Z2 Play. The Sony Xperia 5 counts with a little sharper display than Moto Z2 Play, because it has a little bit higher resolution of 1080 x 2520px, a little bigger display and a little bit greater pixels density.
Moto Z2 Play has a bit bigger storage to store more games and applications than Sony Xperia 5, because although it has only 64 GB internal memory capacity, it also counts with an external memory card slot that holds a maximum of 1,95 TB. Xperia 5 has a bit more powerful processor than Motorola Moto Z2 Play, and although they both have a Octa-Core CPU, the Xperia 5 also has 2 GB more RAM.
Xperia 5 has a little better battery life than Moto Z2 Play, because it has a 5 percent bigger battery size. Xperia 5 shoots just a bit better videos and photos than Moto Z2 Play, and although they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rate, a 12 megapixels camera in the back and the same 3840x2160 video quality, the Xperia 5 also has a larger aperture.
Although Xperia 5 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Moto Z2 Play, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Moto Z2 Play. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can get Moto Z2 Play, letting go a couple features and specs, but you will get the most out of your money.
