Comparison review
Xperia 5 has a global score of 81, which is slightly better than OnePlus 8 Pro's overall score of 77.2. The Xperia 5 design is just a bit thinner and lighter than OnePlus 8 Pro, although both of them were released with only 7 months difference. The Sony Xperia 5 and the OnePlus 8 Pro count with similar processing units, and although the OnePlus 8 Pro has 2 GB more RAM, they both have 8 cpu cores.
OnePlus 8 Pro has a much better display than Xperia 5, because it has a better resolution of 1440 x 3168 pixels, a little bit higher display pixels density and a little larger screen. OnePlus 8 Pro shoots much better pictures and videos than Sony Xperia 5, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not recommended for taking photographs or video in low-light situations, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, the OnePlus 8 Pro also counts with a lot bigger camera sensor capturing much better quality videos and photographs, a way better 48 MP resolution camera in the back and better 60 frames per second video frame rate.
The Xperia 5 counts with a way bigger storage capacity to install games and applications than OnePlus 8 Pro, and although they both have equal internal memory capacity, the Xperia 5 also has a SD extension slot that admits a maximum of 512 GB. OnePlus 8 Pro features a much better battery performance than Sony Xperia 5, because it has a 44 percent more battery size.
Xperia 5 costs a bit more money than OnePlus 8 Pro, but you can get a better phone for that extra dollars.
