Comparison review

Sony Xperia 5 is a little bit better than the Galaxy Alpha, having an 81 score against 76.3. The Sony Xperia 5 design is somewhat thicker and much heavier than the Galaxy Alpha. Galaxy Alpha has a display that's very similar to the screen in Sony Xperia 5, although the Galaxy Alpha has a lot lower resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, a much smaller screen and a lot lower pixels density.

The Sony Xperia 5 features a much greater storage to install applications and games than Galaxy Alpha, because it has more internal memory and a slot for external memory cards that admits up to 512 GB. The Sony Xperia 5 counts with a little faster processor than Galaxy Alpha, because although it has doesn't have an additional graphics processing unit, it also counts with a greater number of cores and more RAM memory.

Sony Xperia 5 counts with a really longer battery performance than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, because it has 3140mAh of battery capacity instead of 1860mAh. The Xperia 5 shoots a bit better photographs and videos than Galaxy Alpha, and although they both have a 12 mega-pixels back camera, the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and the same video frame rates, the Xperia 5 also has a way larger diafragm aperture to take better images and video in low light situations.

Although Xperia 5 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Samsung Galaxy Alpha. If you prefer to save some money, you can buy Samsung Galaxy Alpha, letting go a couple features and specs, but you will get the most with your budget.
