The Sony Xperia 1 III has a general score of 93.3, which is much better than the Sony Xperia 5's 81 score. The Sony Xperia 1 III is a somewhat heavier device than the Sony Xperia 5, but they are equally thin. Xperia 1 III features a little bit better processing power than Xperia 5, and although they both have a Octa-Core processor, the Xperia 1 III also has 6 GB more RAM memory.
Xperia 1 III counts with just a bit better display than Xperia 5, because it has a much higher resolution of 1644 x 3840, more pixels per inch in the screen and a quite bigger screen. The Sony Xperia 1 III counts with a much bigger storage capacity to install games and applications than Xperia 5, because it has 128 GB more internal storage capacity and a SD memory card expansion slot that holds up to 1 TB.
The Xperia 1 III has a much longer battery lifetime than Xperia 5, because it has a 43 percent bigger battery size. Xperia 1 III captures better photos and videos than Xperia 5, because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is not so good for low light captures and videos, and they both have the same resolution back-facing camera and the same 3840x2160 video resolution, the Xperia 1 III also counts with better 120 frames per second video frame rate and a way larger back camera sensor.
The Sony Xperia 1 III costs a lot more money than the Xperia 5, but it's still a convenient choice, as you can get a better phone for that extra money.
