Comparison review
The Xperia XZ2 Premium has an overall score of 82.2, which is a little bit better than the Sony Xperia 5's 81 score. The Xperia XZ2 Premium body is older, way heavier and extremely thicker than the Sony Xperia 5. Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium counts with a much more vibrant screen than Xperia 5, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a lot higher 2160 x 3840 resolution and a lot more pixels per screen inch.
The Xperia 5 counts with a very superior storage to install games and applications than Xperia XZ2 Premium, because it has 128 GB internal memory capacity and an external SD slot that supports a maximum of 512 GB. The Xperia XZ2 Premium's processing unit is just as good as Xperia 5's processing unit, they have 8 cores and the same RAM amount.
The Xperia XZ2 Premium has a slightly better camera than Xperia 5, because although it has a tinier camera aperture which is not good for low-light photography and videos, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video quality and the same video frame rate, the Xperia XZ2 Premium also counts with a larger back-facing camera sensor providing a better image quality and a back camera with a way better resolution.
The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium features a bit better battery duration than Sony Xperia 5, because it has a 3540mAh battery capacity.
Although Xperia XZ2 Premium is a better device, it is more expensive than Sony Xperia 5, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Sony Xperia 5. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can buy Sony Xperia 5, letting go a couple features, but you'll get the most with your savings.
