Comparison review
Xperia 5 is a bit better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, with an 81 score against 76.6. Even when Xperia 5 and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 were only released 8 months apart, Xperia 5 is just a little thinner and lighter. Xperia 5 has a little more vivid display than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a bit better pixel quantity per display inch and a slightly higher 1080 x 2520 resolution.
Sony Xperia 5 features a lot bigger storage to store more apps and games than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, because it has a slot for an SD memory card that admits a maximum of 512 GB and 128 GB internal storage capacity. The Xperia 5 counts with a bit more powerful CPU than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Xperia 5 also has more RAM memory.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 counts with a much longer battery performance than Sony Xperia 5, because it has a 60 percent bigger battery capacity. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 takes much clearer photos and videos than Xperia 5, because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is not so good for low light photography and video, and they both have the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video definition and the same video frame rates, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 also counts with a camera in the back with lot more mega-pixels and a way larger sensor capturing way better quality photographs and videos.
Although Sony Xperia 5 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9. If you are trying to save some dollars, you can get the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, letting go a few features and specifications, but you'll get the most out of your budget.
