Comparison review
Sony Xperia 5 is slightly better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, getting an 81 score against 79. The Sony Xperia 5 construction is just a little thinner and lighter than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, even when they were released with only a couple months difference. The Xperia 5 counts with a bit better display than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, because although it has a quite smaller display, it also counts with a little more pixels per inch in the display and a little bit higher resolution of 1080 x 2520px.
Xperia 5 has a way bigger storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, and although they both have a SD memory slot that supports a maximum of 512 GB, the Xperia 5 also has more internal memory. Xperia 5 counts with a bit more powerful CPU than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, and although they both have a Octa-Core CPU, the Xperia 5 also has 2 GB more RAM memory.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S has a really longer battery life than Sony Xperia 5, because it has a 60 percent larger battery size. Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S shoots much clearer pictures and videos than Sony Xperia 5, because although it has a tinier camera aperture which is not favorable for capturing photographs in low-light situations, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video definition and the same video frame rate, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S also counts with a camera in the back with a way higher 48 mega pixels resolution and a way bigger sensor capturing more light and vivid colors.
Although Xperia 5 is a better device, it is way more expensive than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can get Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, giving up some specs and features, but you'll get the most with your savings.
