Comparison review

The Google Nexus 5 is just a bit better than the Sony Xperia X, with a global score of 76 against 72.9. Despite of the fact the Google Nexus 5 is noticeably older and thicker than Sony Xperia X, it's body is still somewhat lighter. Google Nexus 5 features a bit better hardware performance than Sony Xperia X, because although it has 2 less cores and less RAM memory, it also counts with an additional graphics processing unit.

The Google Nexus 5 has a better screen than Xperia X. They have the same resolution of 1920 x 1080, the same display pixels density and a display with the same size. Sony Xperia X counts with a much better memory capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Google Nexus 5, and although they both have exactly the same internal storage capacity, the Sony Xperia X also has a SD extension slot that admits up to 200 GB.

Xperia X captures much clearer photographs and videos than Google Nexus 5, and although they both have the same (Full HD) video definition, the Xperia X also has a much bigger sensor which offers a much better photo and video quality, a bigger camera aperture, a back camera with a lot better 23 mega pixels resolution and faster 60 frames per second video frame rate.

The Xperia X counts with a little better battery performance than Google Nexus 5, because it has a 2620mAh battery capacity instead of 2300mAh.

Although Google Nexus 5 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Xperia X, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Xperia X. So if you need that extra features, you can buy Google Nexus 5, but if you don't you can save some money and buy the Xperia X, giving up some specs and features.
