The Galaxy Alpha is just a bit better than the Xperia XA1, having a general score of 76.3 against 71.7. The Galaxy Alpha is a somewhat thinner and somewhat lighter phone than the Xperia XA1. Samsung Galaxy Alpha counts with a bit better performance than Sony Xperia XA1, because although it has an inferior number of cores (although they are faster) and 1 GB lesser RAM, it also counts with a graphics processor.
The Galaxy Alpha has a brighter screen than Sony Xperia XA1, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, and they both have the same 1280 x 720 resolution, the Galaxy Alpha also counts with a little better display pixel density. Xperia XA1 shoots a bit better photographs and videos than Galaxy Alpha, and although they both have the same video frame rate and the same 1920x1080 video quality, the Xperia XA1 also has a back facing camera with way more MP and a larger camera aperture to capture better photography and videos in low light situations.
Sony Xperia XA1 has a much greater memory for games and applications than Galaxy Alpha, and although they both have exactly the same 32 GB internal memory, the Sony Xperia XA1 also has a SD extension slot that holds a maximum of 256 GB. The Sony Xperia XA1 features greater battery life than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, because it has a 2300mAh battery size instead of 1860mAh.
The Samsung Galaxy Alpha costs a bit more money than the Sony Xperia XA1, but it's still a great deal, because you can get a much better phone for that extra money.
