Comparison review

Xperia XZ1 is a little bit better than the Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2), getting a score of 78.3 against 77.4. The Xperia XZ1 is an older device than Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2), but it's thinner and somewhat lighter anyway. Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2) features just a bit better looking screen than Sony Xperia XZ1, because although it has a just a little worse display pixel density, it also counts with a slightly higher resolution of 1080 x 2280 and a bigger screen.

Sony Xperia XZ1 counts with a little faster processor than Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2), although it has a lower amount of RAM, they both have the same number of cores. Sony Xperia XZ1 takes slightly better photographs and videos than Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2), because although it has a tinier aperture which is not nice for low-light photos and video, and they both have the same video frame rate and the same (4K) video resolution, the Sony Xperia XZ1 also counts with a back camera with a much higher 19 mega pixels resolution and a much bigger camera sensor which provides a lot higher image and video quality.

The Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2) has a quite bigger storage for games and applications than Xperia XZ1, and although they both have a SD card slot that admits up to 1,95 TB, the Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2) also has 64 GB more internal memory. Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2) has a superior battery duration than Xperia XZ1, because it has a 5000mAh battery capacity.
