Google Pixel 2 XL is a little bit better than the Sony Xperia XZ1, with an 82.5 score against 78.3. Despite being the best in this comparison review, it must be noted that it is also just a little bit thicker and somewhat heavier. The Google Pixel 2 XL counts with a bit sharper display than Xperia XZ1, because it has a much better 1440 x 2880 pixels resolution, more pixels per inch in the screen and a larger screen.
The Xperia XZ1 has a little faster processing unit than Google Pixel 2 XL. Both have a 4 GB RAM memory and 8 CPU cores. Sony Xperia XZ1 has much more memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Google Pixel 2 XL, because although it has only 64 GB internal storage, it also counts with an external memory card slot that allows up to 1,95 TB.
The Xperia XZ1 takes clearer photographs and videos than Google Pixel 2 XL, because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is not good for low light photos, and they both have the same video frame rates and the same video definition, the Xperia XZ1 also counts with a bigger sensor taking more light and vivid colors and a back facing camera with lot more MP.
The Google Pixel 2 XL features greater battery life than Xperia XZ1, because it has a 30 percent bigger battery size.
