Sony Xperia XZ1 has an overall score of 78.3, which is a little bit better than the Moto G8 Plus's 77.6 global score. Despite of the fact that the Sony Xperia XZ1 is incredibly older than the Moto G8 Plus, it's design is somewhat lighter and somewhat thinner. Sony Xperia XZ1 features a little sharper screen than Motorola Moto G8 Plus, because although it has a bit lower 1080 x 1920 resolution and a bit smaller display, it also counts with a bit greater pixels density.

Xperia XZ1 has much more storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Motorola Moto G8 Plus, and although they both have the same internal memory, the Xperia XZ1 also has a slot for external memory cards that allows a maximum of 1,95 TB. Xperia XZ1 counts with just a bit better processing power than Motorola Moto G8 Plus. Both of them have the same RAM memory amount and a Octa-Core processor.

Moto G8 Plus captures much clearer photos and videos than Xperia XZ1, and although they both have the same 30 fps video frame rates and the same video definition, the Moto G8 Plus also has a bigger camera aperture to take better photos and video in poorly lited environments, a lot higher resolution back-facing camera and a larger sensor.

Moto G8 Plus features a really longer battery duration than Xperia XZ1, because it has a 48% more battery capacity.
