Comparison review
Xperia XZ1 has an overall score of 78.3, which is a bit better than Moto Z2 Play's global score of 77.4. Although it's the best in this review, we must tell that it is also thicker and just a bit heavier. The Sony Xperia XZ1 features a bit better processor than Moto Z2 Play. Both of them have 4 GB of RAM memory and 8 CPU cores.
Xperia XZ1 counts with a little sharper display than Moto Z2 Play, because although it has a quite smaller display, and they both have the same exact resolution of 1080 x 1920, the Xperia XZ1 also counts with a just a bit higher pixels amount per inch in the screen. The Xperia XZ1 has a superior camera than Motorola Moto Z2 Play, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture which is not nice for low light captures, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video definition and the same video frame rate, the Xperia XZ1 also counts with a camera with a lot better 19 MP resolution.
Sony Xperia XZ1 and Moto Z2 Play both feature similar storage to install games and applications, both have exactly the same 64 GB internal storage capacity and a SD memory card expansion slot that admits a maximum of 1,95 TB. The Motorola Moto Z2 Play counts with a little longer battery duration than Sony Xperia XZ1, because it has 3000mAh of battery capacity.
Although Xperia XZ1 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Motorola Moto Z2 Play, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Motorola Moto Z2 Play. So if you need that extra features, you can buy Xperia XZ1, but if you don't you can save some dollars and buy the Motorola Moto Z2 Play, resigning some specifications.
