Comparison review

The Xperia XZ1 is slightly better than the Galaxy Alpha, with a score of 78.3 against 76.3. The Xperia XZ1 is a thicker and notably heavier cellphone than Galaxy Alpha. Samsung Galaxy Alpha has a little more vivid screen than Sony Xperia XZ1, although it has a little bit smaller display, a lot lower resolution of 1280 x 720px and a lot worse amount of pixels in each screen inch.

The Galaxy Alpha's processor is very similar to the Xperia XZ1 one, because although the Galaxy Alpha has less RAM memory and lesser cpu cores , it also counts with an additional graphics processor. Xperia XZ1 counts with a lot bigger memory to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Galaxy Alpha, because it has more internal memory and a slot for an external memory card that allows up to 1,95 TB.

Xperia XZ1 has a really longer battery lifetime than Galaxy Alpha, because it has 2700mAh of battery capacity against 1860mAh. Xperia XZ1 shoots much better videos and photos than Galaxy Alpha, and although they both have the same 30 fps video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, the Xperia XZ1 also has a camera in the back with lot more mega pixels and a larger diafragm aperture to take better photography and video in poorly lited situations.

Although Xperia XZ1 is a better device, it is way more expensive than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Samsung Galaxy Alpha. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy the Xperia XZ1, otherwise you can save some dollars and buy the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, letting go some features and specs.
