Comparison review
The Sony Xperia XZ1 has an overall score of 78.3, which is a bit better than the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge's overall score of 78.1. The Sony Xperia XZ1 body is newer, a little bit thinner and just a little lighter than the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. Galaxy S7 edge features a little more vivid screen than Xperia XZ1, because it has a better 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution, a quite bigger screen and a better pixel count in each inch in the screen.
The Xperia XZ1 has just a bit better performance than Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, and although they both have a 4 GB RAM, the Xperia XZ1 also has more CPU cores. The Sony Xperia XZ1 counts with a much bigger memory for apps and games than Galaxy S7 edge, because it has an external memory card slot that allows a maximum of 1,95 TB and 64 GB internal memory.
The Xperia XZ1 features a bit better camera than Galaxy S7 edge, because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is worse for low light photos and videos, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video quality and the same video frame rate, the Xperia XZ1 also counts with a bigger camera sensor capturing better quality videos and pictures and a much higher resolution camera.
The Galaxy S7 edge counts with a way better battery lifetime than Xperia XZ1, because it has a 33% greater battery size.
Although Xperia XZ1 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Galaxy S7 edge, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Galaxy S7 edge. So if you need that extra features, you can buy Xperia XZ1, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the Galaxy S7 edge, giving up a couple features and specifications.
