Comparison review
The Samsung Galaxy S8 Active is just a bit better than the Sony Xperia XZ1, with a general score of 81.9 against 78.3. Even being the best we are comparing, we must note that it is also much thicker and noticeably heavier. Galaxy S8 Active counts with a bit sharper display than Sony Xperia XZ1, because it has a better display density, a quite bigger display and a much higher 1440 x 2960 resolution.
The Xperia XZ1 has a little better hardware performance than Galaxy S8 Active. Both of them have 8 cpu cores and 4 GB of RAM. Sony Xperia XZ1 features a superior storage to store more apps and games than Galaxy S8 Active, and although they both have equal 64 GB internal storage, the Sony Xperia XZ1 also has a slot for an SD memory card that admits up to 1,95 TB.
Xperia XZ1 features a slightly better camera than Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not favorable for capturing photographs in low light situations, and they both have the same video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 video definition, the Xperia XZ1 also counts with a larger sensor capturing more light and vivid colors and a back camera with lot more megapixels.
Samsung Galaxy S8 Active has a superior battery lifetime than Xperia XZ1, because it has a 48% more battery size.
Even being the best phone of the ones we are comparing, Galaxy S8 Active is also by far the cheapest one, making this phone a great choice.
