Sony Xperia 1 has an overall score of 82.6, which is a bit better than the Xperia XZ1's 78.3 overall score. The Sony Xperia 1 construction is newer than the Xperia XZ1's, although it is just a bit thicker and heavier. Xperia 1 has a little faster processor than Xperia XZ1, and although they both have a Octa-Core CPU, the Xperia 1 also has a larger amount of RAM.

Xperia 1 features a sharper display than Xperia XZ1, because it has a larger screen, a way greater pixels amount per display inch and a much better resolution of 1644 x 3840 pixels. The Sony Xperia XZ1 has a slightly bigger memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Xperia 1, because although it has less internal memory capacity, it also counts with a slot for an external memory card that allows a maximum of 1,95 TB.

The Xperia 1 has improved battery lifetime than Xperia XZ1, because it has a 3330mAh battery size against 2700mAh. The Xperia XZ1 features just a bit better camera than Xperia 1, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not so good for low-light images, and they both have the same video definition, the Xperia XZ1 also counts with a larger camera sensor capturing higher quality photos, a camera with much more megapixels and better 30 frames per second video frame rates.

The Xperia 1 costs more money than Sony Xperia XZ1, but you can get a better phone for that extra dollars.
