Comparison review
Sony Xperia XZ1 has a score of 78.3, which is a bit better than Xiaomi Mi Max 2's 77.5 general score. Even when the Sony Xperia XZ1 and Xiaomi Mi Max 2 were released only a few months apart, the Sony Xperia XZ1 is notably lighter and a bit thinner. Sony Xperia XZ1 has a bit sharper display than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, because although it has a quite smaller display, and they both have exactly the same 1080 x 1920 resolution, the Sony Xperia XZ1 also counts with a quite greater quantity of pixels in each inch of display.
Xperia XZ1 counts with a bigger storage capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, because although it has only 64 GB internal storage capacity, it also counts with a SD memory slot that admits up to 1,95 TB. Xperia XZ1 features a bit better processor than Xiaomi Mi Max 2. They have a Octa-Core CPU and 4 GB of RAM.
Xiaomi Mi Max 2 features a much longer battery lifetime than Xperia XZ1, because it has a 5300mAh battery capacity. Sony Xperia XZ1 counts with a slightly better camera than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and although they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rates and the same 3840x2160 video resolution, the Sony Xperia XZ1 also has a way larger camera sensor capturing way higher quality videos and photographs, a bigger diafragm aperture to take better low light captures and videos and a much more mega-pixels camera in the back.
Although Sony Xperia XZ1 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Xiaomi Mi Max 2. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy Sony Xperia XZ1, else you can save some dollars and buy the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, giving up some specs and features.
