Comparison review

The Galaxy A8 Star has a score of 82.1, which is just a bit better than Xperia XZ2 Compact's global score of 79. Even though the Galaxy A8 Star and the Xperia XZ2 Compact were released with only 5 months difference, the Galaxy A8 Star design is heavier but also a lot thinner. Both phones in our current comparison come with Android operating system, but the Galaxy A8 Star has 9.0 Pie version while Xperia XZ2 Compact has Android 8.0 Oreo version, so it gives some additional features and some performance improvements.

The Xperia XZ2 Compact features a better looking screen than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a little bit worse resolution of 1080 x 2160 and a really smaller screen, it also counts with a quite higher quantity of pixels in each inch of screen. The Galaxy A8 Star and Xperia XZ2 Compact feature incredibly similar memory to store more games and applications, both of them have exactly the same internal storage and a SD card slot that supports a maximum of 400 GB.

The Xperia XZ2 Compact has a little faster processor than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, although it has a smaller amount of RAM, they both have a Octa-Core processor. Samsung Galaxy A8 Star counts with longer battery lifetime than Xperia XZ2 Compact, because it has a 3700mAh battery size. Xperia XZ2 Compact has a bit better camera than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a tinier camera aperture, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video resolution, the Xperia XZ2 Compact also counts with higher 60 fps video frame rate, a camera in the back with a higher 19 mega pixels resolution and a bigger back camera sensor capturing better quality pictures and videos.
