Comparison review
The iPhone XS Max has a score of 84.5, which is slightly better than the Xperia XZ2 Premium's global score of 82.2. Even when the iPhone XS Max and the Xperia XZ2 Premium were only released with a couple months difference, the iPhone XS Max is incredibly thinner and lighter. Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium features a sharper display than Apple iPhone XS Max, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a way better resolution of 2160 x 3840 pixels, a much greater display density and more screen brightness.
The Xperia XZ2 Premium features a lot bigger storage capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Apple iPhone XS Max, and although they both have exactly the same 64 GB internal storage capacity, the Xperia XZ2 Premium also has a SD memory card expansion slot that admits a maximum of 400 GB.
IPhone XS Max has a bit more powerful processing unit than Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium, because although it has an inferior number of cores and a lower amount of RAM memory, it also counts with a 64 bits processing unit. The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium has a little longer battery duration than Apple iPhone XS Max, because it has an 11% more battery capacity.
The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium shoots slightly better photos and videos than Apple iPhone XS Max, because although it has lower 30 frames per second video frame rates, and they both have the same (4K) video definition and the same aperture, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium also counts with a bigger camera sensor which gives a better image and video quality and a back-facing camera with much more MP.
Apple iPhone XS Max costs a little more money than the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium, but you can get a better phone for that few extra dollars.
