Xperia XZ2 Premium is a bit better than OnePlus 8, having a global score of 82.2 against 76. The Xperia XZ2 Premium is an older, thicker and a lot heavier cellphone than OnePlus 8. Xperia XZ2 Premium and OnePlus 8 feature similar processors, and although the OnePlus 8 has a higher amount of RAM memory, they both have the same number of cores.

The Xperia XZ2 Premium features a more vivid display than OnePlus 8, because although it has less bright display and a little smaller screen, it also counts with a lot greater pixel quantity per inch in the screen and a lot higher resolution of 2160 x 3840. OnePlus 8 captures better photographs and videos than Xperia XZ2 Premium, and although they both have a F1.8 aperture and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, the OnePlus 8 also has a bigger sensor capturing higher quality videos and photographs, higher video frame rate and a camera with a much better resolution.

Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium has a quite bigger storage to store more games and applications than OnePlus 8, because although it has only 64 GB internal storage, it also counts with an external memory card slot that supports a maximum of 400 GB. The OnePlus 8 counts with longer battery life than Xperia XZ2 Premium, because it has 4300mAh of battery capacity instead of 3540mAh.

Although Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than OnePlus 8, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as OnePlus 8. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and get the OnePlus 8, resigning some specifications.
