Comparison review
IPhone 8 Plus is much better than Xperia XZ2, getting an 87.1 score against 79.1. Although the iPhone 8 Plus and the Xperia XZ2 were only released with a couple months difference, the iPhone 8 Plus body is much thinner but just a little heavier than the Xperia XZ2. IPhone 8 Plus has a little bit better hardware performance than Xperia XZ2, because although it has 1 GB lesser RAM memory and 2 less and slower CPU cores, it also counts with a 64-bit CPU.
The Sony Xperia XZ2 has a bit better looking screen than iPhone 8 Plus, because it has a little bigger display, a bit more pixels per inch in the display, a quite brighter display and a slightly higher 1080 x 2160px resolution. The Xperia XZ2 captures a little bit better pictures and videos than Apple iPhone 8 Plus, because although it has a smaller aperture which is worse for low light photography, and they both have the same (4K) video quality and the same video frame rates, the Xperia XZ2 also counts with a much better 19 MP resolution back facing camera and a much larger back-facing camera sensor.
The iPhone 8 Plus counts with a bigger memory capacity for games and applications than Sony Xperia XZ2, because although it has no external SD slot, it also counts with 256 GB internal memory. Xperia XZ2 counts with greater battery duration than Apple iPhone 8 Plus, because it has an 18% more battery capacity.
