Comparison review
The Xperia XZ2 has an overall score of 79.1, which is just a bit better than the Asus ROG Phone's 77.1 general score. Although Xperia XZ2 and the Asus ROG Phone were only released with a few months difference, the Xperia XZ2 design is notably thicker but also just a little lighter. The Asus ROG Phone has a bit more powerful CPU than Xperia XZ2, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Asus ROG Phone also has a greater amount of RAM memory.
The Xperia XZ2 has just a bit better display than Asus ROG Phone, because although it has a quite smaller display, and they both have exactly the same resolution of 1080 x 2160px, the Xperia XZ2 also counts with a little bit better number of pixels per screen inch and a brighter screen. Asus ROG Phone counts with a much bigger memory to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Xperia XZ2, because although it has no external memory slot, it also counts with 512 GB internal memory.
Xperia XZ2 has a much better camera than Asus ROG Phone, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture which is not favorable for shooting images or video in low light situations, and they both have the same 60 frames per second video frame rates and the same (4K) video quality, the Xperia XZ2 also counts with a larger back-facing camera sensor taking more light and vivid colors.
The Asus ROG Phone has superior battery duration than Xperia XZ2, because it has a 4000mAh battery size against 3180mAh.
