Huawei Mate 20 is a bit better than Xperia XZ2, getting a 79.5 score against 79.1. Even though the Huawei Mate 20 and the Xperia XZ2 were only released with a couple of months difference, the Huawei Mate 20 is thinner and just a little lighter. Sony Xperia XZ2 has a little more vivid screen than Huawei Mate 20, because although it has a quite lower 1080 x 2160 resolution, a quite darker display and a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a just a little better pixels density.
Xperia XZ2 counts with a greater storage capacity for games and applications than Huawei Mate 20, because although it has just 64 GB internal memory, it also counts with a slot for external memory cards that allows a maximum of 400 GB. Sony Xperia XZ2 features a little bit better hardware performance than Huawei Mate 20. Both have the same RAM amount and 8 CPU cores.
The Xperia XZ2 captures slightly better videos and photos than Huawei Mate 20, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not nice for low light photography and videos, and they both have a same size sensor and the same video resolution, the Xperia XZ2 also counts with a back-facing camera with way more megapixels and better 60 frames per second video frame rates.
