The LG V40 ThinQ has a global score of 81.2, which is a bit better than Xperia XZ2's overall score of 79.1. LG V40 ThinQ's design is lighter and a lot thinner than Xperia XZ2, even when both were released only 7 months apart. LG V40 ThinQ and Sony Xperia XZ2 feature really similar displays, although the LG V40 ThinQ also has a better 1440 x 3120 pixels resolution, a greater pixels density and a little bigger display.

The LG V40 ThinQ has a little bit better hardware performance than Xperia XZ2, and although they both have the same number of cores, the LG V40 ThinQ also has 2 GB more RAM. Xperia XZ2 features a slightly better camera than LG V40 ThinQ, because although it has a much tinier diafragm aperture which is not good for taking photographs or videos in low light environments, and they both have the same video quality and the same 60 frames per second video frame rate, the Xperia XZ2 also counts with a much more MP back camera and a larger sensor taking higher quality photographs.

LG V40 ThinQ counts with a much greater storage capacity to store more apps and games than Sony Xperia XZ2, and although they both have exactly the same internal memory capacity, the LG V40 ThinQ also has an external memory slot that allows a maximum of 1,95 TB. LG V40 ThinQ has just a bit longer battery life than Sony Xperia XZ2, because it has 3300mAh of battery capacity.
