Samsung Galaxy Note8 has a general score of 83, which is a little bit better than Xperia XZ2's score of 79.1. The Samsung Galaxy Note8 construction is much thinner and just a little bit lighter than the Xperia XZ2, even when both were only released with a couple of months difference. Xperia XZ2 features a bit more powerful processing unit than Samsung Galaxy Note8, although it has a lower amount of RAM memory, they both have 8 processing cores.
Sony Xperia XZ2 counts with a slightly better display than Samsung Galaxy Note8, although it has a way lower 1080 x 2160px resolution, a bit smaller display and a just a bit worse pixel density. The Sony Xperia XZ2 counts with a little bit better storage to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Note8, and although they both have exactly the same 64 GB internal memory, the Sony Xperia XZ2 also has a SD memory card expansion slot that supports a maximum of 400 GB.
The Samsung Galaxy Note8 has a bit better battery performance than Xperia XZ2, because it has 3300mAh of battery capacity against 3180mAh. Xperia XZ2 captures just a bit better photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Note8, because although it has a smaller camera aperture which is not so good for low light images, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video quality, the Xperia XZ2 also counts with a larger sensor capturing more light and vivid colors, a back-facing camera with a lot better 19 MP resolution and faster 60 frames per second video frame rate.
